Tooliverse
Privacy Policy
Tooliverse is free and pays for itself with ads, shown through Google AdMob. There's still no account and no analytics we collect ourselves. Every tool's actual reading, motion, camera, microphone, location, still happens entirely on your device the same way it always has; ads are the one part of the app that does talk to a server.
Ads
Ads come from Google AdMob, the only third-party service in this app. Loading an ad means your device talks to Google's servers, and Google may use an advertising identifier to make those ads more relevant if you allow tracking when asked.
You can say no to that and Tooliverse works exactly the same either way, just with less targeted ads. We don't put ads inside Flashlight, SOS Beacon, Strobe, or Red Light, and we never block a tool's reading behind one.
Sensor, camera, and microphone data
Motion, camera, microphone, and location data are only processed live, in memory, while the specific tool using them is open, just long enough to show you a reading.
None of it gets written to disk, and none of it leaves your device. Close the tool and that sensor stops.
What's actually stored
A short list of things you choose to keep get saved locally on your device using iOS's standard app storage. Never uploaded, never synced, never shared with anyone:
- Favorites and recently used tools
- Waypoints you choose to save
- Ruler calibration and appearance preference
Permissions
Camera, microphone, location, and motion access get requested the first time a tool actually needs them, never up front at launch, and we explain why in the app before the system dialog even shows up.
You can revoke any of them in iOS Settings whenever you want without losing the rest of the app.
Tracking
iOS will ask whether Tooliverse can track you when you first open the app. That choice only controls whether AdMob can use your advertising identifier for more relevant ads.
We ourselves don't track you across other apps or websites, and nothing about how the tools work changes based on your answer.
